System for an Unsafe Sky

Integrated Counter-UAV System.

Current operational experience confirms that low-cost strike drones — including Lancet and Shahed-class UAVs — impose asymmetric costs on defenders relying exclusively on missile-based intercept. A single engagement using surface-to-air missiles requires expenditure several orders of magnitude above the value of the targeted asset.

Critical infrastructure, energy distribution nodes and rear-area defensive positions require a cost-effective, low-maintenance kinetic solution capable of high engagement rates. The Blitzfall system is based on a combat-proven 30 mm gun platform, enabling engagement of UAV targets at materially lower cost per kill than missile-based alternatives.

Engagement Sequence

Detection · Classification · Engagement

The Blitzfall engagement cycle is executed autonomously from initial sensor contact through firing solution computation. A single manual confirmation step is required from the operator prior to weapons release.

01 / SCAN
Sector Surveillance
Ku-band radar and thermal imaging system maintain continuous coverage of the assigned sector. Operation is sustained in all lighting and weather conditions.
02 / CLASSIFY
Target Classification
Blitzfall AI cross-references radar track with electro-optical data. Contact is classified as hostile, neutral or unknown. False contacts — birds, other objects — are filtered and excluded from engagement queue.
03 / CONFIRM
Operator Authorization
Operator reviews AI evaluated target data and authorizes engagement. This is the sole mandatory human intervention in the engagement sequence.
04 / ENGAGE
Firing Solution
System computes ballistic solution in real time — accounting for target trajectory, wind, atmospheric conditions and selected ammunition type. Programmable fuse parameters are set prior to round exit.
05 / VERIFY
Post-Engagement Assessment
System evaluates hit or miss situation after each engagement. If the target is not neutralized, system recalculates and re-engages.
Deployment Configurations

Scalable Deployment Architecture.

The Blitzfall platform is configurable from a single autonomous station to a multi-unit networked defense installation. Turret assembly is compatible with wheeled, tracked and amphibious carrier platforms.

STANDALONE UNIT
Configuration 01

Standalone Station

Single Blitzfall unit operating independently. Sector surveillance, AI-assisted classification and autonomous engagement. No external radar dependency.

Sector coverage: up to 4 km. No external infrastructure required.
NETWORKED PERIMETER · 4 UNITS
Configuration 02

Networked Perimeter Defense

Multiple units sharing a common 4D radar track. Overlapping coverage arcs provide 360° protection around critical infrastructure — substations, energy plants, command nodes.

Recommended for: critical infrastructure and energy hubs.
MOBILE — WHEELED / TRACKED / AMPHIBIOUS
Configuration 03

Mobile Platform

Turret assembly mounts on wheeled, tracked or amphibious carrier chassis. Enables repositioning of coverage in response to evolving front-line conditions.

Platform-independent. Adaptable to terrain and operational requirement.

Operational Characteristics

Key Performance Advantages.

The Blitzfall system integrates a combat-proven 30 mm gun platform with AI-assisted fire control, programmable ammunition and networked command architecture — delivering high engagement frequency at low cost per kill.

Minimal Crew Requirement

Operator role limited to engagement authorization. No specialist fire control training required.

All targeting, range computation and ballistic calculation is performed autonomously. Operator tasks are confined to authorization and ammunition resupply.

Low Cost Per Engagement

Kinetic intercept using gun-based system reduces expenditure compared to missile alternatives.

Programmable 30×211 mm ammunition enables neutralization with a limited burst per target. Estimated cost per engagement approximately 1,000 EUR.

High Engagement Accuracy

Programmable airburst fuse with onboard flight sensors enables precision intercept.

Fuse is set to detonate at a defined altitude in proximity to the target. Effective against fast-moving and low-signature UAVs within 3 km.

Multi-Unit Coordination

Networked AI command architecture enables shared situational awareness across all units.

Units within a common installation share a single radar track. Engagement is coordinated to prevent duplication and ensure full perimeter coverage.

Personnel Protection

Fully autonomous operation eliminates requirement for manned forward positions.

System operates without personnel in the engagement zone. Operator station may be located at a safe remove from the defended position.

Continuous Operational Readiness

Automated surveillance and engagement cycle without fatigue limitation.

System maintains uninterrupted sector coverage. No shift rotation required. Response time from detection to engagement authorization is consistent regardless of duration of deployment.

European Industrial Base
All principal components — gun system, radar, optics and ammunition — are produced within the European Union: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria and France.
Gun platform based on the PLDvK 30×211 mm design. Production is being revived and modernized to meet current threat parameters and EU ammunition standards.
The system eliminates dependency on non-European supply chains for critical air-defense components, in accordance with EU defense autonomy objectives.
